Next week W is turning 4! So I'm heading down memory lane and sharing pics from his last three birthdays... because who doesn't need a good cry this week?!
1. First Fiesta
W turning "uno" was a perfect opportunity to throw a "first fiesta."
Three years ago, there weren't many cute piñata options (now they're everywhere... figures), so I handmade our giant cactus piñata and mini donkey piñatas (using poster board and tissue paper), which we filled with treats and handed out as party favors along with hand painted wooden maracas and tambourines. #chachacha
We kept the decor simple, with painted cactus rocks and paper flowers. And we garnished a Chantilly cake from Whole Foods with a custom cake topper from Bash & Co.
2. A Dino-Bunny-Easter-Bash
In 2017, W's birthday fell right on Easter Sunday. It will again in 2028, and then not until 2090! So, for his 2nd birthday we decided to give him the Dino party he begged for... with an Easter Bunny touch. He loved it!
For the cake topper, I gave two plastic dinosaurs an Easter basket and some bunny ears using felt (a little pink blush applied with a Q-tip gave them the perfect amount of pink).
A local shop made a custom 3 foot dinosaur piñata complete with bunny ears and a bunny tail. It was massive. I mean... the head was bigger than mine (see above).
3. Vroom Vroom
For W's third birthday, it was all about fast cars.
During the party he insisted on wearing his race car driver costume from Teetot, and friends went home with candy-filled race cars and design your own race car stickers.
Finally, we made "thank you" cards (using a photo from the party). I designed them in Microsoft Word and printed them on cardstock at Staples. So easy! So cheap! And just look at that face... it had to be shared!
Ok. Bawl session complete. Next week is #4. Any guesses on how we'll be celebrating W's big day this year??
