We spent the last few days of summer break at one of our favorite places, tucked away in the Brazos in northern New Mexico. Our parents have been bringing us here since we were little ones, and now sharing it with our kids is really special. Scroll down to see some pics from our "goodbye, summer" trip to Corkins Lodge.

On our last day, we travelled into Chama to catch a ride on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. It was amazing!! We 100% recommend it!

We chose the "half day" option due to the ages of our kids. We departed at 10am and were back in Chama by 3:30pm. If you have older kids, I'm sure they could handle the 8am-6pm journey, but we didn't want to chance it.

The kids loved it. We rode all the way to Osier, Colorado, where we were served lunch (included in the price of the ticket). Then we got back on the train and headed back to NM.

The scenery was incredible. And after a big lunch, we all enjoyed the soothing rickety ride back.

Our sweet parents... they're always up for an adventure!

The train ride was spectacular, but spending time with people we love was the best part.

So long, summer break. Next stop... back to school!
