DIY: Charlie Chaplin Costume

We can't guarantee this silent movie star costume will keep your kid silent, but we can guarantee that they'll look super cute for Halloween this year! Follow the instructions below to turn your little munchkin into the one and only, Charlie Chaplin!

To create this costume, you will need:

- 1 roll of black felt ($1.00 @ DollarTree)

- Mustaches (pack of 6 for $1.00 @ Dollar Tree) - cut them to make the stache and brows

- Top hat ($1.00 Dollar Tree) - we couldn't find black so we painted a blue one!

- Clip - we had one on hand, but you can use a safety pin or a Bobbi pin to secure it to the shirt.

- White Oxford shirt - if you don't own one, pick one up at your local thrift store a buck or two!

To create a bowtie, cut a small rectangle and thin strip out of black felt.

Pinch the rectangle in the center.

Wrap the strip around the center and glue with hot glue or fabric adhesive. Allow to dry.

On the backside, slip in the clip and you're done!

Here's hoping your little on takes the "silent" part of the "silent movie star" to heart!

The end. Roll credits.
